The Family Court in Nasr City, Cairo, has resolved a long-standing legal dispute between actor Ahmed Ezz and actress Zeina concerning child support for their two children. This case, which has spanned 11 years, is noted as one of the most prolonged legal battles within the Egyptian entertainment industry.
Details of the Ruling
The court mandated that Ahmed Ezz must pay 30,000 Egyptian pounds each month for child support. This ruling follows a series of earlier decisions, which initially set the support amount at 80,000 pounds, then adjusted it to 60,000 pounds, before arriving at the current figure after numerous appeals by Ezz over the years.
Background of the Dispute
The conflict began in 2014 when Ezz disputed the paternity of their two children, Ezz El-Din and Zein El-Din. In response, Zeina initiated legal proceedings to establish paternity, which was later confirmed through DNA testing. Following the confirmation, the focus shifted to determining an appropriate support amount to meet the children's daily needs and educational expenses.
Legal Proceedings
In 2016, Zeina's attorney, Moataz El-Dekr, submitted a request to the Family Dispute Settlement Office within the Family Court, seeking a comprehensive monthly support amount. The case remained under judicial review until the final ruling was delivered today.
